North Lancashire is a genuinely varied stretch of country: the university city of Lancaster, the Victorian seafront of Morecambe, the canal-side settlement at Carnforth, the limestone villages around Silverdale and Arnside, and the market town of Garstang further south towards the Fylde. Ask what these places have in common and the honest answer is not much beyond geography — which is exactly why a single generic approach to windows and doors rarely serves any of them well.
We are based across the county boundary in Appleby-in-Westmorland, and North Lancashire sits well within the territory we work in regularly rather than occasionally. Between the A6, the M6 and the West Coast line, the towns covered here are no further from us in practice than parts of Cumbria we visit every month.

We work from drawings and specifications rather than asking clients to translate them, and we are happy to sit alongside a design team through planning, tender and installation stages.

Planning and conservation across the region
Lancaster's historic core, several of Morecambe's Victorian streets, Carnforth's older quarter and the villages around Silverdale and Arnside all include conservation areas, and listed buildings are scattered widely across the region. Arnside and Silverdale itself sits within a National Landscape (the former Arnside & Silverdale AONB), which raises the weight given to landscape character in any assessment, though it does not by itself dictate what material or style is required.

We travel to North Lancashire for site visits, surveys and installation as part of our normal working pattern rather than treating it as a special case. What determines whether a project makes sense for us is its scale and nature, not the exact mileage from Appleby-in-Westmorland — a whole-house replacement or a substantial extension in Lancaster is a straightforward job for us; a single leaking window on its own is better served locally.
