Why this system exists

The whole opening, open
Unlike a slider, a bifold clears almost the full width, which matters when two rooms are used as one for family gatherings.

Closed, it is still glass
Folded shut the panels read as a glazed screen, so the rooms stay connected visually even when they are separated acoustically.

Panel counts and stacking direction set around the furniture layout and where the fold should live.

Narrow steel-look profiles mean the folded stack takes far less wall than a timber equivalent.
Where a fold beats a slide
If the opening between two rooms needs to disappear completely — a playroom that becomes part of the kitchen, a dining room that opens into a snug — a bifold gives you the whole width. A slider always parks a panel somewhere.
The honest counterpoint is what it looks like closed. Folded shut, a bifold has more vertical stiles than a pair of doors, so we set the panel widths to keep the rhythm even.
